Child Fund International
Ms. Grossman sponsors a child in Ecuador through Child Fund International. Child fund Ecuador works to protect children and youth. We promote family and community-friendly, safe environments in which children and youth can develop, grow, plan. participate and express their thoughts. In 2016, more than 70,000 children benefited from Child Fund programs and projects in Ecuador. Additionally, in collaboration with 14 other organizations, Child Fund Ecuador is leading a national campaign to promote child protection. Through radio, television, press, and social networks, Child fund created a sense of urgency to protect children and adolescents from physical and psychological violence, child trafficking, harassment and sexual abuse and negligence. Charity Water Ms. Grossman is a monthly sponsor of Charity Water (CharityWater.org) and a member of "The Spring" which works to bring clean drinking water to people in developing countries. Charity Water is a nonprofit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. 663 million people live without clean water. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide, or, twice the population of the United States without access to life’s most basic human need. The majority live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family. Not only does walking for water keep kids out of school and take up time that parents could be using to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that make them sick. When a community gets access to clean water, it can change just about everything. Access to clean water means education, income and health - especially for women and kids. It can improve health, increase access to food, grow local economies, and help kids spend more time in school. The water crisis is huge, but it is solvable. We work with local experts and community members to find the best sustainable solution in each place where we work, whether it’s a well, a piped system, a BioSand Filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater. And with every water point we fund, our partners coordinate sanitation and hygiene training and establish a local Water Committee to help keep water flowing for years to come.
